Forward Together

The University of Florida Health Science Center and Shands HealthCare represent a nationally unique collaboration between a health system and six colleges encompassing major health professions on multiple campuses. We aim to be a world leader in interdisciplinary research and are committed to excellence in patient care. We seek to train the next generation of health professionals in a manner that enables them to lead the future forward, and to cultivate the next generation of investigators to create the kind of knowledge that will be most useful to improving the health status of the communities we serve.

Now is the perfect time for the University of Florida to move forward and build on its place as one of the country’s leading academic health centers. To do that, we must establish an integrated system that brings together the colleges that comprise the HSC with Shands HealthCare under a unified vision. The synergies of an integrated academic health center can only be fully realized if we work together.

On these Forward Together pages, we will share with faculty members, students and staff of both the HSC and SHC progress made throughout the strategic integration effort and keep you up to date on the planning process. We invite your thoughts and input.
